Fine Art Giclée Prints
Giclée prints of Kristin Hill’s paintings are created utilizing the best light-fast pigmented inks on archival acid free canvas and papers, and professional equipment which can use these very recently developed long-lasting archival materials. Each giclée print is hand signed by Kristin Hill.
The term "giclée" (zhee-clay) is of French derivation and refers to the "spraying of ink". High quality prints made in the giclée method employ the special technology of a superior ink jet printer which uses durable pigmented inks, unlike other ink jet printers which must use dye or solvent inks which fade quickly. Superior quality professional ink jet printers produce a fine spray of ink, employing six to seven original ink colors to create a complex, refined color mixture on a substrate surface of paper or canvas. An image of the original painting is captured in a high resolution digital file and used to direct the printing process. Kristin Hill works personally with skilled print technicians to achieve the delicate control necessary to create a fine reproduction of the original work.
High quality giclée prints are accepted by museums and galleries throughout the world-wide fine art community as a very collectible, established art medium.

Limited Edition Lithographic Prints
Limited edition collector’s lithographic prints are produced in highest detail by a four-color ink process on a printing press. They are printed on heavy weight, acid free conservation paper, and are signed and numbered by the artist to add individuality and value. An “artist proof” is a very low-quantity edition of the print, traditionally, the first to come off the press. These prints are inscribed, or “remarked,” with a special designation when signed by the artist, and are highly collectible. “Custom remarked” artist proofs carry a special hand made drawing or other unique art applied individually by the artist.
